Sensitive file disclosure via unnormalized log paths
Published Jul 7, 2025 · Updated Jul 8, 2025
Path traversal in Dagster webserver before 1.5.11 allows remote attackers to read sensitive local files through the /logs endpoint. The endpoint passes attacker-controlled log paths to get_captured_local_path without first resolving them and enforcing the configured logs directory boundary. No authentication or user interaction is required; disclosure is limited to files readable by the webserver process and apparently to names containing a dot.
