Unauthorized endpoint queries via dashboard path traversal
Published Feb 14, 2024 · Updated Mar 24, 2025
Path traversal in Grafana Labs JSON API Data Source before 1.3.21 allows remote authenticated users to query unintended endpoint paths. The plugin accepts ../ segments in a dashboard-supplied path and appends them to an administrator-configured base URL without enforcing its subpath boundary. An Editor can reach other paths on the configured domain; if the data source points back to Grafana, an administrator viewing the panel can send credentialed administrative requests.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
