Administrator-level stored XSS via unescaped image paths
Published Oct 20, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in WPvivid — Backup, Migration & Staging 0.9.89 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via image file paths. The uploads-cleaner code outputs the administrator-controlled image path in an administrative page without adequate sanitization or contextual escaping. Administrator privileges are required, and the stored script executes when a user opens the injected page, enabling actions in that user's browser context.
