CVE-2023-51146Public exploit

Authenticated code execution via unchecked username formatting

Published Mar 26, 2024 · Updated Aug 20, 2024

Stack-based buffer overflow in TRENDnet TEW-821DAP 3.00b06 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through adm_add_user. The ssi CGI passes an HTTP username of up to 256 characters to sprintf() for a 64-byte stack buffer without checking its length. An adjacent-network user with a valid bearer token can corrupt the stack, crash the management service, or redirect execution.
