Remote code execution via oversized VLAN parameter
Published Dec 26, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stack overflow in Tenda M3 firmware 1.0.0.12(4856) allows remote attackers to execute code or crash the device via a crafted HTTP request. The /goform/setVlanInfo handler exposes fromSetLocalVlanInfo, where an oversized vlan parameter overwrites the httpd process stack. The published proof of concept supplies an admin-valued cookie, but NVD assesses no required privileges or user interaction; exploitation yields a shell or terminates the service.
