CVE-2023-51092Public exploit

Unauthenticated code execution via upgrade stack overflow

Published Dec 26, 2023 · Updated Sep 9, 2024

Stack overflow in the upgrade handler in Tenda M3 1.0.0.12(4856) allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted HTTP request. The public PoC supplies an oversized workMode-related Cookie value to /cgi-bin/upgrade, overflowing the upgrade function's stack buffer. Network reachability to the management interface is required, but no valid session is required; successful exploitation runs attacker-controlled code on the controller.
