Root code execution via unverified firmware source

Improper update-source verification in Buffalo LS210D 1.78-0.03 allows man-in-the-middle attackers to execute arbitrary code as root. The update_notifications.sh workflow retrieves update metadata and an unencrypted firmware archive over HTTP without authenticating the source. An attacker controlling the appliance's upstream network or DNS can substitute a higher-version archive, causing the device to install modified firmware and run attacker code with root privileges.
