Unauthenticated SMB log disclosure via exposed handler
Published Jan 13, 2024 · Updated Jun 16, 2025
Incorrect access control in QStar Archive Solutions 3-0 Build 7 Patch 0 allows remote attackers to read SMB service logs without authentication. The smblog_save function in main.php accepts the l query parameter, maps three allowed values to fixed SMB log paths, and passes the selected path to readfile without an authentication check. A network request selecting nmb, smb, or winbindd is sufficient to disclose the corresponding local service log; no write or service-interruption impact is reported.
