CVE-2023-51006Public exploit

Arbitrary file read via unchecked content URI

Published Dec 28, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Arbitrary file read in Chinese Perpetual Calendar 9.0.0 allows attackers to read files through its exported content provider. WidgetSkinProvider.openFile passes uri.getPath() directly to File and opens the resulting path without filtering, canonicalization, or an allowlist. Any app on the same Android device can invoke the exported provider without authentication and retrieve files accessible to the calendar app.
