Authenticated file inclusion via shortcode source
Published Oct 31, 2023 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Local File Inclusion in HTML filter and csv-file search 2.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute PHP via the csvsearch src attribute. The plugin passes the shortcode src value into file-include processing without restricting paths, allowing contributor-level users to include arbitrary server files and execute PHP contained in uploaded files. Exploitation requires an authenticated WordPress account with contributor or higher permissions and a reachable shortcode-rendering page; impacts include sensitive-data disclosure, access-control bypass, and server-side code execution.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
