Cleartext storage in IBM Storage Defender Data Resiliency Service 2.0 allows local users with root access to obtain Kubernetes secrets. The Connection Manager OVA stores Kubernetes secrets in its configuration with base64 obfuscation rather than encryption. Root access is required, and the recovered secrets enable unauthorized actions against connected components or protected data.
