Unauthorized account access via absent logout functionality
Published Feb 2, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Session fixation in IBM PowerSC 1.3, 2.0, and 2.1 allows remote authenticated users to access another user's session. The web interface omits logout functionality and continues to accept a fixed session identifier after another user authenticates. Exploitation requires valid credentials and control of the fixed identifier; successful abuse grants the access held by the affected session.
