CVE-2023-50916Public exploitNetwork attack vector

NTLM credential exposure via crafted UNC backup path

Published Jan 10, 2024 · Updated Jun 3, 2025

Path traversal in Kyocera Device Manager before 3.1.1213.0 allows remote authenticated users to expose NTLM credentials via UNC paths. The /backup-restore-service/config/backup-path endpoint trusts a crafted path despite client-side backslash filtering, then validates the UNC share by authenticating to it. Administrative access and network reachability are required; exposed NTLM material supports credential relay or offline cracking.
