CVE-2023-50913Network attack vector

Metrics tampering via unrestricted URL imports

Published Dec 5, 2024 · Updated Dec 11, 2024

Server-side request forgery in Oxide software 4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to send HTTP requests to the underlay network. The image_create and disk_import_blocks_from_url endpoints accept user-supplied URLs without restricting destinations, causing the control plane to issue HEAD and GET requests to rack-internal services. A project or silo collaborator who knows an internal service address can alter or delete metrics data and interrupt metrics APIs; database disclosure remains unconfirmed.
