Device identifier disclosure to local applications
Published Jan 19, 2024 · Updated May 30, 2025
Information disclosure in Lenovo Tab M8 HD firmware allows local users to obtain a non-resettable device identifier through an application. Lenovo has not published the affected component, entry point, or operation that exposes the identifier to an application. A low-privilege application must already run on the tablet; the reported consequence is persistent device identification rather than data modification or service interruption.
