Authenticated code execution via exposed Log4j2 MBean
Published Oct 14, 2024 · Updated Mar 19, 2025
Improper authorization in Apache ActiveMQ Artemis before 2.29.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute code through Jolokia. The endpoint exposes the Log4j2 MBean to non-administrative accounts, whose controls permit arbitrary filesystem writes. A valid broker account and network access to the web console are required; successful exploitation runs code with the broker process's privileges.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
