Phishing via unchecked post-login redirect URL
Published Dec 13, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Open redirect in Jenkins OpenId Connect Authentication Plugin 2.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to send users to phishing sites. The post-login redirect logic accepts a user-controlled from query parameter as a destination without restricting absolute URLs to the Jenkins origin. Exploitation requires a user to open the crafted Jenkins login URL and complete authentication before the browser follows the attacker-chosen redirect.
