CVE-2023-50766Network attack vector

Secret extraction and SSRF via unprotected validation endpoints

Published Dec 13, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025

CSRF in Jenkins Nexus Platform Plugin 3.18.0-03 and earlier allows remote attackers to make Jenkins fetch and parse XML from an arbitrary URL. Form-validation endpoints accept GET requests without POST enforcement, so a forged browser request reaches URL-fetching and XML-parsing code. A victim with an active Jenkins session must load attacker-controlled content; crafted XML can extract controller secrets or induce server-side requests.
