Arbitrary file deletion via unchecked path traversal
Published Dec 13, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Path traversal in Jenkins Scriptler Plugin 342.v6a_89fd40f466 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to delete controller files. The doRemoveScript endpoint joins the attacker-controlled id query parameter to the script directory and deletes the resulting path without checking containment. Scriptler/Configure permission and network access to Jenkins are required; deletion is limited to files writable by the controller process.
