Authenticated web-server hang via incomplete certificate chain
Published Jun 11, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Denial of service in Siemens SIMATIC and SIPLUS processors before 2.3 or 2.4.8 allows remote authenticated users to hang the web server. The configured PKCS12 import path processes an incomplete certificate chain without reaching a loop exit, leaving the web server in an infinite loop. Exploitation requires authenticated access and a configuration that permits PKCS12 container imports; the resulting impact is a web-server service hang.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
