CVE-2023-50723Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unescaped section metadata

Published Dec 15, 2023 · Updated May 7, 2025

Code injection in XWiki Platform 2.3 and later before 14.10.15, 15.5.2, and 15.7-rc-1 allows remote authenticated users to execute code. ConfigurableClass headings and crafted document references are rendered in the administration interface without context-appropriate escaping, causing embedded Groovy macros to execute with programming right. Any account that can edit an arbitrary page, normally including its own profile, can compromise the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the installation.
