Permission inheritance via enabled Electron fuses
Published Jan 9, 2024 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Permission inheritance in Evernote for macOS 10.68.2 allows local users to run Node.js code with the application's TCC access. Enabled runAsNode and enableNodeCliInspectArguments fuses make the executable honor Node mode and CLI inspection arguments, turning it into a generic Node.js process. Electron disputes the reported remote vector because exploitation already requires command execution or physical access on the host; the added consequence is reuse of Evernote's existing macOS permissions.
