Code execution via unchecked DICOM parsing
Published Oct 19, 2023 · Updated Jan 16, 2025
Out-of-bounds read in Santesoft Sante FFT Imaging 1.4.0 and earlier allows attackers to execute code via a crafted DICOM file. The DICOM parser fails to validate user-supplied data before performing a read beyond the intended buffer. Exploitation requires a user to open the malicious file, and resulting code runs with the privileges of the current process.
