Admin credential disclosure via diagnostic logging
Published Feb 28, 2024 · Updated Nov 14, 2024
Credential disclosure in Couchbase Server 7.1.5 through 7.2.3 allows local users to read encoded internal Full Admin credentials. A logging event writes the @ns_server administrator credential material into diag.log in an encoded but retrievable form. Exploitation requires local low-privileged access to that log and exposes credentials carrying full cluster-management authority.
