CVE-2023-50424Network attack vector

Unauthenticated privilege escalation via permissive issuer matching

Published Dec 12, 2023 · Updated Feb 25, 2026

Issuer validation bypass in SAP Cloud Security Client Go before 0.17.0 allows remote attackers to obtain arbitrary application permissions. Middleware.verifyIssuer accepts any issuer hostname ending in a trusted domain, without requiring an exact host or dot-delimited subdomain. An unauthenticated attacker must supply a token whose attacker-controlled issuer suffix-matches a configured identity domain; successful validation exposes the permissions accepted by the embedding application.
