CVE-2023-5042

Sensitive data disclosure via insecure folder permissions

Published Sep 20, 2023 · Updated Apr 10, 2026

Incorrect folder permissions in Acronis Cyber Protect Home Office before build 40713 and True Image OEM before build 42575 expose sensitive data. The Windows installation assigns overly broad permissions to an undisclosed product folder, allowing its sensitive contents to be read outside the intended trust boundary. A local low-privileged user is required; the published record identifies confidentiality loss only and does not identify the folder or exposed files.
