CVE-2023-50386Network attack vector

Authenticated code execution via ConfigSet backup classpath

Published Feb 9, 2024 · Updated Apr 24, 2025

Code execution in Apache Solr 6.0.0 through 8.11.2 and 9.0.0 before 9.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to load Java code. The ConfigSets API accepts JAR and class files, and LocalFileSystemRepository backups write them without excluding class-loader directories. With authorization enabled, Backup permission is required; execution depends on saving the backup in a Solr classpath directory and referencing the uploaded class.
