Information disclosure via missing TLS hostname validation
Published Aug 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 14, 2024
Improper certificate validation in IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5 and 9.0 allows remote attackers to obtain sensitive information. For outbound TLS connections, the runtime accepts a trusted certificate without ensuring its hostname matches the destination hostname. Exploitation requires an adjacent-network spoofing position and a certificate from a trusted authority; the reported consequence is sensitive-information disclosure only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
