Information disclosure via missing TLS hostname verification
Published Aug 14, 2024 · Updated Aug 19, 2024
Improper certificate validation in IBM WebSphere Application Server Liberty 17.0.0.3 through 24.0.0.8 allows remote attackers to read sensitive data. The outbound TLS client accepted a trusted server certificate without matching its Subject Alternative Name to the requested host or IP address. Exploitation requires adjacent-network access and a certificate from a trusted authority, enabling spoofed outbound endpoints to disclose data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
