Weak outbound TLS handling in IBM WebSphere Application Server 8.5 and 9.0 allows adjacent attackers to read protected data. The outbound TLS connection path fails to honor administrator-selected security settings and can instead use weaker cryptographic protection. Exploitation requires a network-adjacent position and a configured outbound TLS connection; the reported consequence is confidentiality loss only.
