CVE-2023-50290Network attack vector

Host environment-variable disclosure via Metrics API

Published Jan 15, 2024 · Updated May 9, 2025

Information exposure in Apache Solr 9.0.0 through 9.2.1 allows remote attackers to read host environment variables through the Metrics API. The Metrics API serializes every process-visible environment variable into its response unless the variable name matches a configured hidden-value pattern. Authorization-enabled SolrCloud deployments require metrics-read permission; the flaw grants read access only and does not alter host data.
