CVE-2023-50274

Local root code execution via unvalidated upgrade string

Published Jan 23, 2024 · Updated May 30, 2025

Command injection in HPE OneView before 8.70 allows local users to execute arbitrary code as root through a local service. The startUpgradeCommon method passes a user-supplied string to a system call without proper validation. Exploitation requires low-privileged code execution on the appliance or HTTP access to a local service and yields root-context execution.
