Blind SSRF via unvalidated Discord webhook URL
Published Dec 22, 2023 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Blind SSRF in the testDiscord handler in PyMedusa Medusa before 1.0.19 allows remote attackers to send POST requests via the server. The handler passes the unvalidated discord_webhook value through the Discord notifier to requests.post(), which contacts the supplied URL. No authentication or user interaction is required; successful requests reach destinations accessible to the Medusa server, while responses remain blind apart from success or error status.
