Same-origin script execution via unsanitized XML filename
Published Dec 22, 2023 · Updated Feb 13, 2025
Reflected XSS in Cacti 1.2.26 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run script through a crafted XML template filename. templates_import.php passes the unfiltered uploaded filename into raise_message_javascript(), which embeds it inside a quoted JavaScript value. Exploitation requires an authenticated template upload and browser rendering of the validation error, enabling same-origin requests and settings changes as the victim.
