Server hang via unescaped route-parameter regex
Published Dec 20, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
ReDoS in Sentry Astro SDK 7.78.0 through 7.86.0 allows remote attackers to hang servers via crafted route parameters. The interpolateRouteFromUrlAndParams function in server middleware inserted each parameter value unescaped into a newly constructed regular expression. Exposure requires Sentry middleware plus a route with at least two path parameters; repeated crafted requests can consume CPU and hang the application server.
