Root command execution via unvalidated cfgsave upusb input
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
OS command injection in D-Link G416 firmware 1.08b02 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code as root. The cfgsave upusb path in the TCP port 80 HTTP service passes a user-supplied string to a system call without proper validation. Exploitation requires LAN-side reachability but no authentication, and successful commands run with root privileges.
