Code execution via unchecked SKP object lifetime
Published May 3, 2024 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Use-after-free in SKP parsing in Trimble SketchUp Viewer 22.0.354 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted model. The parser performs operations on an object without first validating that the object still exists, allowing reuse of freed memory. Exploitation requires the target to visit a malicious page or open a malicious SKP file, and successful exploitation runs code in the current process.
