Stored script execution through administrative settings
Published Dec 26, 2023 · Updated Apr 23, 2025
Stored XSS in GROWI before 6.0.0 allows remote authenticated users to run arbitrary script in a visitor's browser through admin settings. JPCERT/CC and the vendor have not published the affected input fields or the faulty storage or output-encoding operation on the App Settings, Markdown Settings, and Customize pages. Exploitation requires a logged-in user who can change these administrative settings and another user who later opens the affected site, exposing that user's browser session to attacker-controlled script.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
