Local code execution via unquoted executable path
Published Sep 16, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Unquoted search path handling in Topaz OFD 2.11.0.201 allows local users to execute code with Protection Module Warsaw privileges. The core.exe launch path contains spaces without enclosing quotation marks, so Windows can resolve an attacker-placed executable before the intended binary. The attacker needs local access and write permission in a searched path location; execution inherits the launching process's privileges.
