Settings modification via missing nonce validation
Published Jan 17, 2024 · Updated Jun 11, 2025
CSRF in WP Discord Invite before 2.5.1 allows remote attackers to change plugin settings through a forged administrator request. The settings-update handler accepts POSTed configuration fields without validating a WordPress nonce, so a victim's authenticated session authorizes them. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to load or submit attacker-controlled HTML, and the demonstrated request changes OAuth and webhook settings.
