CVE-2023-50044Public exploit

Interpreter crash via built-in pointer dereference

Published Dec 20, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Out-of-bounds read in Cesanta MJS 2.20.0 allows attackers to crash the interpreter through a crafted JavaScript property expression. The getprop_builtin_foreign path mistakes a built-in API function value for a foreign pointer and dereferences the supplied index outside valid memory. Exploitation requires execution of attacker-controlled JavaScript; the upstream proof demonstrates a process crash, not code execution or data disclosure.
