Improper authorization in Grandstream GXP14XX/GXP16XX firmware allows remote authenticated users to gain administrator access. The web interface trusts the client-supplied session-role cookie instead of validating the role bound to the session-identity token. End-user credentials and network access to the phone are required; changing the role to admin permits privileged actions, including uploading an SSH key.
