Router crash via oversized resetMesh mac value
Published Dec 7, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024
Stack overflow in Tenda W30E firmware 16.01.0.12(4843) allows remote attackers to crash the router via a resetMesh request. The /goform/module endpoint passes an oversized resetMesh.mac value to formResetMeshNode without enforcing the destination stack buffer's bounds. Network access to the web interface is sufficient according to NVD, although the published proof of concept includes a session cookie; the demonstrated consequence is a router crash.
