CVE-2023-49910Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via unchecked SSID copy

Published Apr 9, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Stack overflow in TP-Link EAP115 5.0.4 and EAP225 5.1.0 firmware allows remote authenticated users to execute code via SSID input. The Radio Scheduling handler copies the ssid value into fixed-size stack buffers without checking its length, then uses its length in a second strncpy into a stack structure. Administrative web access and a malformed save request are required; successful corruption can control execution as root, while an unsuitable address crashes the HTTP process.
