Authenticated code execution via unbounded action copy
Published Apr 9, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Stack overflow in TP-Link EAP225 5.1.0 Build 20220926 allows remote authenticated users to execute code via Radio Scheduling HTTP requests. The handler passes the newline-delimited action value to strcpy_until without checking its four-byte destination, corrupting the httpd_portal stack. The CNA also lists EAP115 5.0.4 Build 20220216 as affected, while Talos labels this action-parameter instance as EAP225-specific; exploitation requires an authenticated session.
