CVE-2023-4990Network attack vector

Arbitrary file read via directory traversal

Published Oct 11, 2023 · Updated Sep 18, 2024

Directory traversal in MCL Technologies MCL-Net before 4.6 Update Package (P01) allows remote attackers to read arbitrary server files. The System component fails to confine requested paths to the MCL-Net service folder, so traversal paths resolve to files and folders outside it. No privileges or user interaction are required; disclosure is limited to files readable by the MCL-Net service account.
