Authenticated file read via GIF URL traversal
Published Jan 10, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025
Path traversal in WWBN AVideo dev master commit 15fed957fb allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files. The aVideoEncoderReceiveImage.json.php handler strips everything before /videos/ from downloadURL_gifimage, appends the remainder to a local videos path, and reads it without removing traversal segments. Video-upload permission is required; exposed files can include configuration.php, whose salt supports administrator privilege escalation.
