CVE-2023-49800Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Unauthenticated server crash via recursive retries

Published Dec 8, 2023 · Updated Aug 2, 2024

Denial of service in Nuxt API Party before 0.22.1 allows remote attackers to crash the server via crafted proxy requests. The server proxy copies fetchOptions from the request body into ofetch without filtering, allowing an attacker to set an extreme retry count against a failing URL and trigger recursive error handling until stack overflow. A single unauthenticated network request can make the Nuxt host unusable; confidentiality and integrity are not affected.
