Path traversal in MindsDB before 23.11.4.1 allows remote attackers to create or overwrite server files via the HTTP file API. The file.py PUT handler accepts an unchecked original_file_name, then file_controller.py uses that path in shutil.move after validating only that the uploaded content parses as CSV, XLS, XLSX, JSON, or Parquet. Unauthenticated API access is sufficient, and writes are limited to those validated formats and locations permitted to the server process.
