CVE-2023-4978Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Script execution via unescaped IPv4 search input

Published Sep 15, 2023 · Updated Sep 20, 2024

Cross-site scripting in LibreNMS before 23.9.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser via IPv4 search input. The IPv4 search page writes the POSTed address into an HTML input value without escaping, allowing attribute breakout and script markup. Exploitation requires access to the search interface and a second user to load the crafted result, placing browser-visible data and actions in that user's session at risk.
